About Us

Located in the San Luis Valley among the southern Colorado Mountains, we are here to serve our community’s health life style. We are happy to say we have over 30 years experience in our field and our staff is always happy to assist you. We carry many quality items including local products in our Alamosa store and hope you will visit us soon. You don’t have to be a member to shop at the Valley Food Co-op!

Mission Statement

To maintain a cooperative community market place providing healthy food choices at the best possible value, education for healthy eating and lifestyles, support for local organic producers, nurturing connection with community organizations with common values.

Our History

Co-op opened the Alamosa store on March 22, 1980 and was managed by Loretta Mitson.

Today the store is celebrating over 30 years of service.
